Patient Access is a platform that connects individuals to healthcare services, allowing them to book GP appointments, order repeat prescriptions, and explore local pharmacy services. A new feature now allows users to create a Patient Access account without linking it to their UK GP practice. This feature provides access to various services, including searching for symptoms and finding patient information articles, self-referring to NHS services such as talking therapies and sexual health, and booking appointments for a range of healthcare services like physiotherapy and counseling. Users can also access medical advice and healthy living tips, sign in securely with Touch or Face ID, and check if they can link their account to their GP. For those who are able to link their Patient Access account to their GP practice, additional features become available. These include booking face-to-face or remote online appointments with their GP, nurse, or clinician at a convenient time, requesting repeat prescriptions online with delivery to their preferred pharmacy, and viewing their medical record, including test results, allergies, and immunizations. Users can securely share their medical record with healthcare professionals of their choice without contacting their practice, act on behalf of their loved ones to book appointments and repeat prescriptions, and message their GP directly from within the Patient Access platform. If enabled by their practice, users can also book remote video consultations with their healthcare providers. To use the GP-linked features in Patient Access, individuals must be registered patients at a participating practice. This ensures that they have access to the full range of services and benefits provided by the platform.
