SECTION 1:

SMS Backup & Restore is an app that creates a copy of SMS & MMS messages and call logs on the phone. It can also restore messages and call logs from existing backups. It has features such as local device backup, automatic uploads to cloud storage, scheduled backups, and search backups. It is tested on Android 5.0 and higher and requires access to messages, calls, contacts, storage, network, social information, run at start-up, prevent phone from sleeping, and test access to protected storage.

SECTION 2:

The app also has the ability to transfer backups to another phone, free up space on the phone, email a backup file, and view the XML backup on a computer. It is important to note that the app only restores backups made by itself and to ensure a copy of the backup is outside the phone before performing a factory reset.
