AOSS is an app that allows you to easily and securely connect your Android device to a Buffalo AirStation wireless router using Wi-Fi. By following the instructions and pressing the AOSS button on the AirStation, the app automatically configures all security settings, including encryption. However, it is important to note that if your Android device has Wi-Fi calling, you should turn it off during the AOSS setup process. Additionally, Android 6.0 or later requires permission to access location services, but the app does not collect location data.
In case you encounter any issues during the setup process, there are several troubleshooting steps you can try. These include restarting your Android device and the AirStation, exiting all other running applications, moving the device closer to the AirStation, changing the wireless channel of the AirStation, and disabling any other apps that control the Wi-Fi connection. It is also recommended to delete any unnecessary Wi-Fi network settings that may already be stored.
The app has been tested and found to be compatible with various versions of Android, ranging from Android 2.1 (Eclair) to the latest Android 12. However, there are a few devices that are not supported, such as the Lenovo Tab M10 FHD Rel and AQUOS R6. It is important to ensure that your AirStation is compatible with AOSS, as some models, including WAPM-APG300N, WAPM-AG300N, and WHR-AMPG, are not compatible.
Please note that AOSS is a trademark of Buffalo Inc., the company behind the app.
