Gallagher Mobile Connect is an Android app that utilizes Bluetooth Low Energy technology to provide secure access to different areas on your site and allows interaction with building systems. With the app, you can receive push notifications for important events and display your ID cards using the Digital ID feature in Gallagher Command Centre 8.40.
To optimize battery usage, it is recommended to disable battery optimization for the Mobile Connect app in your Android phone settings. NFC (Near Field Communication) is another option for access, which consumes less battery and is generally faster and more reliable than Bluetooth. However, NFC is also affected by battery optimization, so it is advised to change the Bluetooth Background Access setting to "No Background Bluetooth" if using NFC.
Bluetooth has the advantage of longer range compared to NFC, but it may be less reliable and slower. The Bluetooth Background Access settings can be configured based on your device's needs. The Access Tab in the app lists all the readers within Bluetooth range, and in some cases, tapping on a reader's name may be necessary for manual access attempts. The Actions Button in the app allows for special actions configured in Gallagher Command Centre Server, such as controlling lights, air-conditioning, or alarm zones.
Please note that Gallagher Mobile Connect requires an authorized access credential, Command Centre v7.60 or higher, and Bluetooth Low Energy equipped Gallagher multi-tech access readers. NFC can also be used with all Gallagher T series readers. Bluetooth Low Energy uses location to discover Gallagher readers, but Bluetooth and location can be switched off if NFC is enabled on the readers. The app supports English, French, and Spanish languages.
