The Driver's Guide is a vehicle-specific Owner's Manual for selected BMW models. To use the system, an internet connection is required for the first time. After entering the vehicle identification number (VIN), the Owner's Manual for the vehicle is downloaded and is subsequently available without an internet connection. The Driver's Guide can manage multiple vehicles. The system allows users to acquaint themselves with the features of their vehicle by reading the full Owner's Manual, searching by picture, or viewing explanatory videos. The more familiar a user is with their vehicle, the better control they will have on the road.

The Driver's Guide provides a range of content depending on the vehicle, including the full Owner's Manual, Quick Reference, a search by topic, a search by picture to find features, explanatory animations, solutions to particular situations based on Quicklinks, explanations of warning and indicator lamps, and answers to frequently asked questions (FAQ). The Driver's Guide is available for various BMW models, including the BMW 1 Series, 2 Series, 3 Series, 4 Series, 5 Series, 6 Series, 7 Series, 8 Series, X models, Z4, M models, BMW i3, and BMW i8. Additional PDF owner's manuals are available for all BMW models as of 1998 and all BMW i models as of 2013. More information can be found in the additional brochures of the onboard literature.
