Opal Travel is the official app for managing travel on the public transport network in Sydney and surrounding regions. Available on Android devices, the app allows users to plan trips, top up their Opal balance, view trip and transaction history, and access other useful information. It can be used with both registered and unregistered Opal cards. The app offers a range of features, including trip planning and fare estimates, the ability to view and top up Opal balances on the go, and the option to register Opal cards or credit/debit cards used for public transport. Users can also view travel history and transactions, set up automatic balance top-ups, and report lost or stolen Opal cards. Location-based alerts can be received when approaching a stop, and notifications about delays and disruptions specific to a trip are also available. Weekly travel rewards can be checked, and Opal card tap on status, account balance, and weekly travel rewards can be scanned using compatible NFC-enabled Android devices. Opal retailer locations can also be viewed on a map. Please note that Opal card scanning may not work on all devices, and the app is designed for use with Adult, Child/Youth, Concession, and Senior/Pensioner Opal cards, as well as American Express, MasterCard, and Visa. It is not compatible with rooted (jailbroken) Android devices.
