The "Digitales Amt" (Digital Office) offers Austrians the opportunity to handle official matters online and provides information about public administration in specific life situations. By using the digital services of the office, you can save yourself the trip to the physical office.
The advantages of the Digital Office include 24/7 availability, a central point of contact for digital citizen services, no waiting or travel times, the ability to handle official matters anytime and anywhere, a digital mailbox for official correspondence, and secure management of personal data.
To use oesterreich.gv.at:
1. Download the "Digitales Amt" app for free.
2. Log in with your ID Austria. If you don't have an ID Austria yet, follow the instructions within the app.
3. After successful registration with your ID Austria, you can fully utilize all the benefits of the "Digital Office".
ID Austria is the evolution of the Handy-Signatur (mobile signature). If you don't have an ID Austria yet, you can still log in with your Handy-Signatur. You will be guided through the necessary steps to switch your Handy-Signatur to an ID Austria within the app.
Important functions of the app include accessing online information about official services and public administration, using the cross-platform search for all administrative topics, conveniently handling selected official matters online (such as applying for a postal vote, registering or deregistering a main residence, and using the Digitaler Babypoint), staying up to date with news about digitization, utilizing the chatbot for questions, creating a personal profile for tailored information, securely logging in with ID Austria and keeping track of your usage history, receiving official correspondence digitally, and digitally signing PDF documents using the PDF signature.
